According to UNHCR, wage of violence against refugee, displaced and stateless women and girls could happen as the Covid-19 prolongs which could result from a lethal mix of confinement, deepening poverty and economic duress.
UNHCR has received reports with the indication of sharp increases in the risks of gender-based violence such as:
- intimate partner violence,
- trafficking,
- sexual exploitation, and child marriages
