Luanda
Luanda – The Angolan Health minister, Jose Van-Dunem, said Wednesday in Luanda that the reduction of maternal and infant mortality in the country (currently 600 per 100,000 live inhabitants), requires good quality of information to pregnant women and improvement of health conditions.
According to the minister, within the institutions there should also be improved a monitoring system of pregnant women, that ensure blood when necessary and improves the skills of health professionals.
“We have to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and so we will reduce mortality rate in over 60 percent”, he said.
The Executive Programme that will be approved in 2012, is in line with the MDGs, which means that national commitments coincide with international conventions.
